This work recalls Abstract Expressionist gesture, especially Pollock’s poured webs, but reoriented toward a lyrical landscape in the spirit of Joan Mitchell. It also nods to Impressionist interest in flickering light on foliage and contemporary gestural abstraction rooted in nature.
